The Metasearch engine enables you to search both the library catalogue and several library databases simultaneously, such as  Business Source Premier, Ebsco e-Books, Emerald, Hospitality and Tourism Complete (Ebsco), Sage Online Journals, Springer Journals, ScienceDirect (Elsevier), Taylor and Francis, Wiley Online Library.  Go to the Metasearch engine

In the video below, you will get tips & tricks on how to search the Metasearch engine for relevant information:

Google Scholar

Google Scholar gives you access to scholarly Open Access publications as well as to publications that are available via the BUas Library Databases. Check out this video on how to search Google Scholar.

Journals & Articles

Academic journals are important sources of information. Researchers will usually seek to publish the details of new work in an academic journal for scrutiny and validation by others in their discipline so these publications are a vehicle for the dissemination of breakthrough knowledge. Submissions are usually peer-reviewed or refereed before they are accepted for publication so articles in academic journals are regarded as being more credible than articles from popular or trade journals and magazines because they have gone through a rigorous review process before they are published.

The Library provides you with access to relevant journals within every knowledge field of Breda University of Applied Sciences, including Hotel & Facility. These scholarly and academic journals are both in print and electronic format. You can use the links below to get access to a selection of important journals for your academy.

Recent issues of print journals are on display in the Library. Lift the shelf to find older issues behind.

Attention: Sometimes BUas Library has a single user subscription to a journal. This means the Library has access with just one login, which we are not allowed to share. This is the case for instance with The Economist. If you need an article from such a source, you can contact the Library

Besides our list of e-journals, you can use Google Scholar and the Library's Metasearch engine to find relevant articles. The videos below explain how to search Google Scholar and the Metasearch efficiently:

In our Library we also have publications in print or in Dutch available. These can be used at home as well.
