Hit the “Geoprocessing” button in the menu bar and choose the “Clip” option. A new window opens after clicking on it.
The first bar “Input Features” that needs to be filled in is the largest file you are going to clip with. Also opt for the file from which the clip will be made. Click “OK”.
In the “Clip Features” bar the clip to be used is opted for. After selecting the right file, click “OK”.
Lastly, change the name of the clip by deleting what is behind the last slash and changing this to the desired new name. Afterwards, click “OK”.
The new layer has been added to the “Table of Contents”. To see only the clip, remove all ticks of the layers in “Table of Contents” except the one of the new layer.
