Imagineering

Brooding

Creativity is thinking with a curve. That's exactly what we will do in the brooding phase. And we are not talking about gentle curves that you can drive with eyes closed, but think of those dangerous hairpin bends at a 15% ramp ..... Welcome in the major league of creativity.

To make it more  concrete: in the brooding phase you start playing with information and knowledge that you collected in the analysis phase. Fortunately, you are not completely on your own. Under the different tabs you will find a treasure of information on creativity: visual thinking, facilitating creative sessions, lots of creative techniques and so on. Let’s entertain that  right half of your brains!

It’s often heard: let’s have a brainstorm. Most of the time you end up with a bunch of post-it’s and hardly new insights. Imagineers use creativity in a different way, because they aim at results. How? Get inspired by this webclip on Creative thinking.

Simply said reframing is ‘looking at things in another way’. It can help you to solve problems and / or to come up with original new findings. Want to know more? Have a look at this webclip:

When you’re stuck on a problem or in a situation, sometimes all you need is another perspective. This new perspective can help  to come up with a new approach or solution. This is called reframing and in this article you’ll find a good illustration of this ‘art of thinking differently.

Here is a website with a lot of tools and canvasses to fill in for every phase of the ABC model:

Creativity works in mysterious and often paradoxical ways. Inspiration and ideas often arise seemingly out of nowhere and then fail to show up when we most need them, and creative thinking requires complex cognition yet is completely distinct from the thinking process. A nice insight in the characteristics of creative people and how they all work differently.
