Imagineering

ABC-Process

The ABC-process is a dynamic process. Other terms used for this are holistic or organic. It means that the process is not a matter of cubicle-wise thinking. You cannot go linear  through all the stages and "it's done". Rather, it is a process that is never actually finished. Of course, the process should be  thoughtful and lead to a sustainable result. At the same time the environment is constantly changing, new insights emerge and new (technological) possibilities come into view. That means that the ABC-process is dynamic, whereby it is very important to be able to respond quickly to new developments and changes. This takes place in the so-called Playground. That can be seen as the central square where all the parties and stakeholders involved in the process meet regularly.

This can happen quite literally, for example in the form of a creative session. It can also be done figuratively, for example in the form of an Internet community. The Playground is an important work principle for another reason also. Imagineering requires a way of working in which you feel pigeonholed as little as possible, but rather are invited to think out-of-the-box. This includes an open mind and hence an open workspace. So the Playground is a perfect place to meet with your colleagues and other stakeholders. And, of course (potential) customers are welcome, for example to co-create. Again, you do not necessarily need to be physically present. Nowadays communication indeed gives you many ways of contact…….

The ABC-process is a powerful way of delivering concepts and products. Has your knowledge become a bit rusty and do you want to know how it works with the ABC process? Here is a good summary.

Every process starts with an effective plan of approach. Often these plans are not much fun to make and even less fun to use. There’s also a more creative and fun way to do this: the gameplan. Look at this clip and see how it works.

En hier is een Nederlandstalige clip over het Gameplan

Maybe you heard  about society 3.0. Or maybe not. Anyway, the way in which people are interacting is changing rapidly. In stakeholder management that’s an important trend. Thinking and (inter)acting like an imagineer can help you in coping with this challenge. In this clip the role of Imagineering in stakeholder management is explained.

Imagineers have this silly theory about the left  and right half of the brain  in relation to ratio and creativity. Of course we are under no illusions to explain the brain. What we dó have is a short test: which side of your brain is more dominant? :

Imagineering is not rocket science and an imagineer is nog a ‘model-fetishist’. Nevertheless, sometimes a theoretical model comes in very handy. So here is a site with hundreds of more or less known models. And the good news is that you can use them at your heart’s content as long as you use citation:
