Step 6: Using Information
The preceding parts of this toolbox were about finding relevant information for your research. However, collecting information is not an end in itself; you are doing research and this is going to result in a report, such as an essay, an article, a thesis etc.
For every type of report it is essential that the author's statements can be verified by the reader. This means that you should always make appropriate reference to the sources you have used for your report. How you should do this is explained in this part of the toolbox.
After studying this section you will know how to manage the literature you have used. You know how to refer to these sources in an appropriate manner, by citing, paraphrasing and including a list of the literature you have used (bibliography). In addition, you are aware of the conSKEuences of not appropriately referring to your sources (plagiarism).
