Information Skills Toolbox

Information Skills Toolbox

Welcome to the Information Skills Toolbox of Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) Library.

The Information Skills Toolbox offers a variety of tools to teach students information literacy skills. Both lecturers and librarians can use these tools for their lectures and workshops/education, and/or students can use the toolbox independently.

The toolbox is based on a 6-step model. Each step of the information literary process is described and contains tools, such as knowledge clips, that can be used in education / learning communities. All tools focus on developing information skills, including:

  •  formulating search questions
  •  collecting the right search terms
  •  selecting relevant resources
  •  search methods
  •  assessing/evaluating information
  •  using & presenting  information correctly
